No hidden reserve.Highest bid over starting price wins!
I’ve decided to sell my Suzuki TM-400 Cyclone (also referred to the “widow maker”) Dirt Bike.
I’ve enjoyed many hours of staring and reminiscing at it in the shop.
I’ve only ridden it once down the street since purchase and don’t see that changing so letting it go.
I have well more invested than the starting price which I hope sparks interest.
I searched for a good long while to find one in this original condition.
I purchased this from the
ORIGINAL OWNER
(I am the second) in 2018.
I found it
incredible
to find someone that kept the bike they bought when he was only 18 years old!
I had the original owner document the story and sign in a letter which I will include in the sale… pretty cool.
This bike is quite original from what I remember owning one of these as a kid (but mine was a TM125).
I included as many pictures as possible for you to judge and will tell you as much about the bikes condition as I know and was given from the original owner.
The grips, handlebars and some fasteners are the only parts I believe are aftermarket.
The original owner explained that he took very good care of this bike.
In his cosmetic restoration he said the fenders, frame and some of the motor were repainted but the tank paint and graphics are still original.
The tank has a shallow dent on the top left that I intended to get removed but never did(you can see it in the photo).
Tank is really nice and solid inside with no coating (that was a huge factor for me).
The motor is still on the original bore he said and it has quite strong compression.
He installed a compression release years ago and said it has a heavier flywheel to tame the bike.
Still uses the factory Oil injection System so you don’t have to mix gas.
Carb and air cleaner are original (see pics)& rubber boots are very soft and pliable.
Kick starter is super tight and stays in place when running.
Bike has a new high quality nicely installed seat cover over the original foam and seat pan.
Chain and sprockets are new.
Wheels are very nice and run true. The bike came with the new set of front and rear tires on it as purchased.
Stock front fender has a mud flap extension which I thought was nicely done to reduce mud thrown to motor.
Pipe is stock with no rust holes and does have a shallow dent and repair on back bottom.
Rear shocks are NOS Redwing Hammer Heads (0).
Front forks have fresh oil with no leaks.
I included a close up picture to show no pitting in the fork seal contact area.
Front and back brakes operate well.
As you probably have read many times, most of these bikes were rode hard and trashed years ago.
When I came across this one, there were so many signs that lead me to believe the bike was well cared for and never raced.
Even the rubber coated tips on the levers have no major damage and to find a one owner bike is quite incredible (45 years old at purchase date).
Bike was always stored in my climate controlled garage. In the Winter, I even removed the tank and stored it inside with the carb dry.
It has no fuel in it now so it’s ready to ship.
The winning bidder can pick up and add fuel and start it if preferred.
It ran and shifted through all gears when I drained all gas from the tank and carb.
Included in the sale is the original
