These beautiful, collectible, hand-painted laquered wood brooches are made in Russia. The first word on the brooch "Mstera", is the name of the village where the brooch was made. It is one of three former centers of religious icon painting, all of which switched to secular scenes after the Russian Revolution. The second word "Troika", is a three horse team.
Description of Item
THIS IS A BEAUTIFULLY DETAILED HAND-PAINTED & SIGNED VINTAGE BLACK LACQUERED BROOCH PIN MADE IN RUSSIA. THE COLORFUL SCENE DEPICTS A COUPLE SEATED IN A TROKIA (three horse sleigh), WITH A DRIVER, RAGING THROUGH THE SNOW. THE BROOCH MEASURES 2 1/2" BY
1 5/8" & HAS A SILVER TONE LOCKING BAR PIN ON THE BACK (see photos #5 & #6). THIS VINTAGE BROOCH IS IN MINT CONDITION & WOULD MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO A COLLECTION.

BROOCH IS WOOD WITH A GLOSS LACQUER COATING. THE LOCKING BAR PIN CLASP IS METAL.
